Where do I start? {Right at the very beginning; a very nice place to start!} I would not call it an action-packed day but enough to leave one dizzy!!!! The day started like any other day. Wait!! No. I got up at 5:15 in the morning. Can you believe it? So the day was *unlike* any other day!! To top it all, the day before, I had packed my emergency kit which consisted of Jazzy T-Shirt (Just in case), 2 shades of Lipstick, eye liner, Comb, extra earrings and a lovely bottle of perfume, Pure Poison by Christian Dior. There has been mixed reviews about this particular perfume but the important thing is, I love it on me!
In any case, Two of my colleagues and I started the drive at 6:30 in the morning and the low fuel indicator in the car was on. We drove for about 20 miles before we refueled the car and I was so worried. You see, I hadn’t had my breakfast until then and would not have been in any shape to push the car had it stopped mid-way!!! Once the car was filled up with gas, the next step was to fuel our body and we did just that at Dunkin Donuts. We resumed our journey once the fueling was complete and the onward journey was supposed to last for 2 hours. One would want to double their money when they go to a casino but am sure no one would want to double the time taken to reach the casino!! I did not double my money and it took 4 hours to reach there. But at least something got doubled!
The Journey was just incredible. New Jersey has the best roads in the whole wide world. It was more fun than riding a roller coaster. The ride in any roller coaster lasts for a minute or two but ours lasted for 4 and that too for free with our own back ground music!!!! (Not really free. We had to pay 4 different tolls. You see it takes lots of money to maintain the roller coaster path ways) Isn't that incredible?? In any case after the bumpy ride, we reached Atlantic City and they had all the US states and oceans on their road!!! (Well, I meant the road names actually :P)
We then went to Taj Mahal, a casino owned by Donald Trump and there were some reserved parking at the casino's parking lot with a board reading, 'Any vehicle parked here will be Towed/Booted at owner's risk'. What a warm welcome! What to say!! Had a burger in the Casino and had to pawn my soul to have one. I have a question here. There were bamboo trees that were made of copper, so it should be called copper trees instead of bamboo trees??
We went on to the boardwalk after that and I was reminiscing the time I had lost my purse along with my passport and I don't think I need an artificial memory to remember that!! There was this Rocket ride that I took. Let me describe the rocket ride to you. There was a big steel ball with 2 chairs inside and the ball is tied to 6 ropes. The ball is thrown up high in the air and it bounces up and down and the ride was just thrilling!
It was time for Dinner and we had to eat . as it is amongst the only 3 basic things required to live - Breathe, Eat and sleep. It was at PF Chang's. Well it wasn't really at PF Changs coz we ordered a take-out and had the food in the parking lot. As always PF chang's food is really amazing.
Now is the time to talk about the real vice (or is it virtue??) - Gambling. We went to the Casino Floor and expected to hear the coins jingling clicking and unfortunately could not hear that; the slot machines takes only 5$ and above. The pleasure of putting in a quarter and yanking the lever no longer be had. Well that did not dampen our enthusiasm; we still inserted 20$ in the slot machine and lost it all :-) At the end of the day, how does it matter on how you lost the money, by putting in the coins or putting in the dollar?? But to tell you the truth, even then gambling is fun! No wonder people flock Casinos hoping that they will double or triple their money. Hope and dream are intangible!!! My colleague played Black Jack and lost all his money and am sure he lost all the games because my another colleague and I kept asking him the rules of the game :-) Poor guy!! (Quite literally "Poor" by the time we left Casino).
Then we went home and to go to the parking lot, we used "sky walk" and that will be covered under a separate title :-)
We started from the Casino at around 12:30 and did some reckless driving and returned to the hotel at 3:00 in the morning. I drove the last 60 miles and I do not remember the drive that well as the third important thing in life overcame me and I reached hotel and hit the sack.
Hope it is a dream but my bank statement indicates the truth in black and white!!!
